Virtual Hackathon (not on Zoom!): Code for the Kingdom Seattle 2021

We’re planning a hackathon for sharing dreams/casting vision for what the future of church could look like.

Here’s what we’re hoping you can get out of it:

This is your chance to pitch your dream for what the future of church could be like and start making it real!
Goals: Inspire, bring to light problems and potential solutions to support the Kingdom, help individuals see how they can use their gifts for the church. Bonus goal: Connecting Church leadership and Technologists.

In preparation for that we wanted to curate some needs/ideas. It doesn’t have to be fully polished, but if you’re seeing any needs or opportunities, could you share them here?

Thank you!

We talk about this all the time, but figuring out an intuitive and highly customize able “digital space” hub seems like a need across the board.

I also think VR development not only for socially-distant situations but also long-term enhanced accessibility would be a huge boon.

Please help us spread the word! Thanks!

C4TK is two weeks away! Organizer @pilsnerj wanted to emphasize that this isn’t just one big zoom call !

We’re using a platform called Remo to make a much more engaging experience.

@pilsnerj could you share a bit about what makes using remo superior to just a zoom hackathon?

Yeah! So, as you can see in the picture, there are tables. Participants can freely move from table to table, to join different conversations. Each table has its own video call space. So for a hackathon, participants will get to meet and have more meaningful conversations not only with their group, but with everyone attending. They won’t be stuck in a breakout room isolated, and without choice to move around the event. You can visit another table or to go ask a question of a participant in another group freely. Pretty cool!
